ESTATE OF PROFESSIONAL VIOLINIST, PHILADELPHIA ~ NO RESERVE FULL SIZE ANTIQUEVIOLIN BIG GYPSY SOUND ~ Listen to the Sound Sample ~This is a beautiful violin, but it is in a fine state of preservation with a wonderful gypsy sound that speaks so well of it's Czech, eastern Europeanorigins...plenty of volume, firey and resonant.As always, I've posted a sound sample so that youcan hear and see this violin being played andjudge for yourself the depth and maturity...thatauthentic old eastern European sound. The violinist is a student and who welcomes your feedback.The piece is an excerpt from Bach's Sonata No. 1. I shot this live video using my little point & shoot camera...t are no expensive microphones, and no studio sound affects used. This fine violin is exceptionally well made. The backis of the most beautiful old one piece European flame maple. This is wonderful, top quality antique violin and as usual, I have included a video sound sample so that you can judgeit for yourself. I believe this violin belongs in the hands of a professional violinist or violin collector.I have always been intrigued by older Czech instruments. The Czech violinmakers were often from the betterviolinmaking families of Germany, France and Italy.These makers became experts in making violinsin the style of the old masters like Stradivarius,Guarnerius, Guadagnini, Maggini, etc.The condition is excellent. No sound post cracks, no open seams. This is an exceptional instrument. Everything issolid with just the minor varnish losses...just cosmeticplaying wear you'd expect in a violin of this age. Of course,you may wish to add fresh strings and have it set up to your playing style, but it's ready to go now as you can see and hear in the video sound sample. This Violin is from the Collection of a Professional Violinist. This instrument was part of the collection of a lifelong orchestraviolinist from Philadelphia...a professional violinist who spent a lifetime performing, traveling and collecting the fine violins& antiques that I have the privilege of presenting on Ebay. This violin bears all of the characteristics of an a antique European instrument handmade almost a century ago.It is made of lovely flame maple and high quality tone spruce. This is a high quality instrument from a better violinmaker trained by the master luthiers of the late 19th centurywho were faithful to the German and Italian form, yetalways imparted imparted their own aestheticand artistic nuance to their instruments.Measurements: This is a Full size, 4/4 violin that measures23-1/2 inches in overall length. The body measures14-1/4" long; lower bout is 8"; upper is 6-1/2". This violin absolutel glows with it's original varnish. It is a golden honey color that just glows with a authenticpatina that only father time can produce. This violin is beautiful,a masterpiece of fine violin-making. It bears an original, oldStrad label. The sound is full, warm and robust...it growlsin the lower bass strings and sings with a clear voice inthe treble end. It has wonderul volume and resonance. The powerful voice of this violin speaks for itself.
