He excelled in painting flower and bird, in a minute and vigorous style, like the style of the Painting Academy of the South Song Dynasty which style is fresh and colored. His works are characterized by innovative compositions, lively images, consummate mastery of brush and mutable application of ink and colours. He was eponymous with Bian Jingzhao and Lin Liang.T are 2 artists' inscription on this painting and they were written by Ma Yuanyu and Zhang Daqian. T are 12 collection seals on it.
