Offered for another 7-Day, NO RESERVE auction is this beautiful, guaranteed original & authentic hand-thrown matte green arts & crafts period, prairie-school, TECO style vase, but signed with the letters J.B.O. (?) and with the hand-incised cypher of GK (?). Could this be a rare example of a "late" J.B. Owens Pottery piece, post 1910, possibly glazed by future Roseville glaze chemist George Krause, or an experimental/demonstration-type piece? All speculation of course, but what is clear is that this is a signed period piece of American Art Pottery, done in a buff-color clay and made in a similar shape and style to TECO vases, shapes number 117 & 118. It is well-done and wonderfully glazed, so if you collect any American Art Pottery, especially from the arts & crafts period, then this piece should find its way into your collection. This guaranteed authentic & original arts & crafts matte green pottery vase (1913) measures 7 & 1/8" tall, and is appx. 4.5" wide at its widest point near the top. The top, rolled-edge opening measures appx. 3" in diameter while the concave, glazed and slightly footed base measures 3 & 1/8" in diameter. As noted, this signed period vase is in MINT Original Condition - NO chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, retouches and/or crazing on this piece whatsoever. T are a few minor pops and some stray silver marks, read more
