We start most of our auctions at $9.99, regardless of higher actual value. This is a very nice heavy, well-molded antique solid sterling silver spoon from Cable, Montana. Cable, Montana, is now a ghost town. It was named to commemorate the laying of the second transatlantic cable in 1867. The handle has a detailed figural miner or prospector front and back. This is a beautiful spoon. He is holding a goldwashed nugget in his hand and beneath his feet it says, "Struck it at last." It is about 4-1/8" long and heavy for its size. T is no wear to the handle at all - the mold is crisp. The lightly goldwashed bowl is hand-engraved with "Cable, Mont." It is in very good condition with only a tiny bit of very light scratching and a bit of tarnish, mostly on the back of the bowl, not much. A couple of tiny letters were scratched in on the back of the handle near the sterling mark- I only noticed it with a loupe, no harm, possibly some past owner's mark, but I did want to mention it. It is marked "Sterling" on the back of the handle with the old H in a pennant hallmark for Watson. No monograms or other engraving,
