Patsy Baby 5 Piece Hand Knit Dress Set Made with a pale yellow soft acrylic fingering yarn, this is a five piece hand knit dress, panties, bonnet and booties. It will fit your Patsy Baby or any 10” or1” composition or plastic baby doll. The dress has little cap sleeves with white lace and buttons in the back with tiny white flower shaped buttons. The button placket overlaps to give a better fit at the bodice. The front of the bodice is knit with a half linen stitch which gives a suggestion of smocking. It is edged with contrasting white lace along the waist. The hem line is knit in a decorative border, which keeps the dress edge from curling and is so pretty! The bonnet is tied with a contrasting white satiny ribbon and trimmed with white lace. It has a decorative knit border around the brim that matches the hem of the dress. The neck edge of the bonnet is knit with short rows for a better fit at the neckline. The panties are like a diaper cover, but slip on. The back of the panties are knit with a technique called “short rows”, which makes a little bump in the knitted fabric, giving room for a baby bottom and a better fit. Short rows are also what creates the heel of a sock. They are trimmed around the leg openings with white lace. The booties slip on and tied with small white ribbons.
