Selling for a friend this is the Franklin Mint's "Genius of Michelangelo" Complete 60-Coin Sterling Set in beautiful condition. Also included is a box that has the purple/white inserts that describe each coin, a letter from the Franklin Mint Vice President about having the complete collection, and an original invoice order slip dated 1/16/75 for the final shipment of the coins. The next box was labeled "Franklin Mint Collector's Kit." This contained a jar of Franklin Mint Coin & Medal Cleaner, a spring coin grabber, and a magnifying glass called the "Lumaviewer." The final box was all about cleaning and protecting the coins. This contained the larger package known as the "Work-Pac" that has three wide-mouthed jars, a working tray, and tools required for treating the medals which are a drying rack, coin holder tongs, protective gloves, polyethylene sheet, packet of tissues, packed of cotton balls, and a soft camel's hair brush.Information on the coins found from another posting of this set:FRANKLIN MINT "The GENIUS OF MICHELANGELO" STERLING SILVER Art Medal Set - COMPLETE. The Franklin Mint issued a set of sixty 925-Sterling-silver medallions they titled "The Genius of Michelangelo." The coins were bound in a leather-like volume with ten coins per page. Each 45mm coin features a design that commemorates a well-known work of art by the great Renaissance master on the obverses. The reverses have the title of the piece surrounding a geometric web-like design centered on a small bas-relief of Michelangelo's head. The total weight of all sixty coins is approximately 75.5 Troy ounces. Research indicates that The Franklin Mint acquired the first 29 or 30 coin designs and struck coins in the purchase of another minting operation, then struck the remainder of the set in their own facility. Those latter strikes were coated by Franklin Mint to prevent tarnishing, while the first portion were not. Hence, the first 29 items in this set have developed some beautiful toning features as well as some tarnish, but those in the latter portion are bright and shiny. All 60 coins are in otherwise great condition. The leather binder has some wear as would be expected for its age. The thick leatherette-like cardboard pages all turn smoothly with no cracking, and all the coins are securely mounted, ten to a page. The page are titled at the top, and the medallions are arranged in two columns of five rows with the name of the represented artwork and the location of that artwork are listed in the margins to the left and right.
