St Lucy Single Decade Rosary with relic medal! Patron Saint for people with Eye Trouble This Beloved Virgin Martyr who lived and died in the third century, AD during the time of the terrible persecutions of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. She is frequently shown in the curious pose of holding a plate with her two eyeballs in it; this alludes to her tortures which included having her eyes put out - but they were miraculously restored to her before she finally died of those tortures. This has led to her being considered the patron of the blind and those with eye diseases, and she is known in some countries as the Queen of Light. This chaplet has an Our Father bead that is an 8mm genuine Green Jade with gold-plated filigree caps. The ten Hail Mary beads are 8mm genuine Amethyst beads - round, translucent and deep purple in color. The 1-1/2" two-tone crucifix had a gold-tone cross with a silver corpus. The 7/8" medal is nickel silver with St Lucy on the front and a 3rd class relic of St Lucy encased on the back. The crucifix and medal were both made in Italy; the chaplet itself was handmade in the USA by my sister, Joan. Perfect gift for a young woman who might be taking St Lucy's name as a Confirmation name; or for First Communion; or for someone who is having any trouble with their eyes or is blind.
