Up for bid is an original WW1 Prussian model 1889 officer's sword in very good condition. Its unsharpened 31 and 1/16 inch blade is marked MOHR & SPEYER, KGL.HOFLIEFERANTEN,COLN on its spine. Blade maintains over 90% of its plated finish and has some minor oxidation spots. Fixed guard brass handle has no cracks and its folding guard functions well. Wood grip maintains 90% of its shark skin or ray skin cover and wire wrap. There are three small holes above the Prussian cipher where a special unit designation was likely placed. Handle is tight on the blade with no play or movement. Scabbard maintains its black painted finish, has 10 dents, is missing one of its two throat screws, the top part of the throat is broken off, and has some oxidation spots. A very good original Prussian model 1889 officer's sword! Shipping to the USA is $12 USPS Insured Priority Mail.
