For sale is a 1971 Gibson SG-200. This guitar comes with its original hard shell case which is pretty worn on the outside, but in great shape and blue and fuzzy on the inside. You'll notice that unlike other SG-200's this guitar has the standard Gibson 3 way switching system. The man who owned this guitar before I did said that this was done in the Gibson Custom Shop, and while I can't assure you of that I can tell you that I took a look inside and the electronic components are original to the time period and whoever did this modification, Gibson or not, knew what they were doing. The neck is straight as they come and none of the strings buzz at all. Unlike some other other SG-200's I've seen on Ebay this one has the original Grover Deluxe tuners, pickguard, and "ashtray" pickup cover. As you can see in the pictures the previous owner wore a belt, and like many 40 year old guitars this Gibson has some damage in its finish. However, the scratches on this guitar are all only aesthetic, there aren't any cracks in the wood, and the neck and headstock are perfectly structurally sound. This guitar has its original Gibson pickups and they are some of the ballsiest single coils I've ever heard, a great match for the guitar. I will ship to lower 48 states only. Serial number is very hard to see in the picture, but it is 616780, Made in USA. read more
