This is an absolutely stunning amethyst carnival water pitcher. The color is incredible. The glass is a deep purple with a heavy carnival finish on both the inside and outside. It radiates a rainbow of bright purple, gold, blue, green, yellow and even a red-orange when the light hits it just right. A true show piece! It is in the lovely Cherry & Cable pattern, also called Cherry & Thumbprint. It has a cluster of cherries hanging from a cable on each side. It also has wide panels that go around. At the bottom of each panel is an inverted thumbprint. The pattern was originally made by Northwood in the early 1900s. It has a short collar base and stands 7-3/4" tall at the sides and 8-14" to the top of the graceful pour spout. Easily holds a generous 7 cups (56 ounces)! The perfect size for lemonade, ice water and iced tea, or any of your favorite beverages. New and in mint condition. An excellent example of hand made pressed glass. Made by Mosser Glass.
