It's the size of a real apple - 4" tall and 3" in diameter - but it's a rainbow of iridescence in color, with equally iridescent applied stem and leaf. Although you can see it only on my shot of the bottom, inside the translucent glass are the blue lobes rising up from the base. It's a paperweight by Joe St. Clair, made in 1983. I acquired this from the estate of a woman in Lincoln , Illinois , who - judging by the massive number of St. Clair paperweights, must have been one of his best customers. This one stood out, both for its unusual execution and the fact that the signature was made by hand with a stylus, not part of the mold or other standard method. I think Joe signed it himself, and I think this was a limited run made for customers like the lady in Lincoln . How many hand-signed Joe St. Clair paperweights have you seen? Seriously, I'm interested. The apple is in absolutely excellent, totally undamaged condition. And I pack famously well. I have another nice but perhaps less unique St. Clair paperweight/perfume bottle up for sale this week from the same estate. Please see my other auctions if you're interested. I happily accept PayPal, money orders and personal checks. Items are very carefully packed and shipped promptly on receipt. Multiple purchases are combined to minimize your shipping costs.
