LIBBEY Glass Company (Toledo, Ohio) glass blowers and glass cutters made this IMPERIAL two handled bowl between July 1895 and June 1896. more than 120 years ago !IMPERIAL patternI am pleased to offer you a two hanled bowl/possible a large sugar bowl cut in the LIBBEY pattern IMPERIAL (patent 4 June 1895) designed by WC Anderson It is from my personal collection. This is a BEAUTIFUL plate that was made between 1896 and 1905 because it has the acid etch mark of Libbey with sword underneath (see the last photo).Cut on a clear white blank.A beautiful patten that will certainly grace any holiday table or your prized collection of American Brilliant Cut Glass.The pattern history:This is a Libbey pattern designed for Libbey by WC Anderson and has a patent date of 4 June 1895.Pearson rates the Libbey IMPERIAL pattern as RAREST - HIGHEST CATEGORY and ONE OF THE MOST DESIRABLEWC Anderson designs are highly sought after and hold value well.The condition:I would state that this 2 handled bowl/possibly a large sugar bowl is in EXCELLENT condition for being 122 years old. I do not see or feel any fela bites of nicks or chips. Some light skuff marks underneath. The triple notched handles present very well. There are no heat checks. I continue to look this piece over because I have not had an IMPERIAL piece in such EXCELLENT CONDITION. I see and read more
