These came from the Estate of Bud Hurlbut who owned both of the Dentzel carousels at Knotts Berry Farm. These were found in a box while cleaning out the warehouse. Not sure which carousel these came from but it is from one of the Dentzel carousels.These original stirrups were removed and replaced with OSHA approved stirrups. I have 50 pairs of this stirrup available. Enough for one large carousel.This auction is for ONE PAIR of stirrups. Write me for details on multiple purchase. Carousel companies like PTC Dentzel Looff Illions Heyn Allan Herschell Spillman all used real horse stirups for their carousels. Today most have been removed for OSHA reasons and are hard to find. These look like a English riding stirrup but I have no idea. I have seen this style of stirrup used on other makes of carousel other then just Dentzel. These are 4 1/2 wide and 4 1/2 tall. Being sold in as is condition all have surface rust. If your restoring a antique carousel animal having the correct stirrup is a must.
