Michigan International Speedway Included in this auction: 1968 MIS Inaugural Race Poster Promotional Tabloid (printed with originally planned race date of October 6, 1968) Personalized Letter signed by Peter DePaolo 1925 Indy 500 Winner (which was mailed with Promo tabloid and Inaugural Program) 1968 MIS Inaugural Race Program also signed by Peter DePaolo MIS Business Card of Vito Lopiccolo - Field Representative (Original President of Michigan Automobile Racing Fan Club - current Advisor to MARFC Board of Directors ) Vol.1 No.2 MIS Newsletter "The Inside Track" pre-race issue mentions eventual race winner on front page (missing merchandise order form from back page) Championship USAC Indy Car Team List Vintage Michigan International Speedway stickers 2 - window stickers and 1 - regular sticker (upside down printing on double checker flag sticker is on peel off backing - not on the sticker itself) The inaugural race at Michigan International Speedway took place on October 13, 1968. The 250-mile Indy Car event posted a purse second at the time only to the Indianapolis 500. Driver Ronnie Bucknum collected $20,088 as the first to take the checkered flag.
