We are pleased to offer today a Vintage Original Metal on wood Printer Block that was used to make Rubber Backstamps. Remember t was only ONE of these which was the start of the process for making Rubber Backstamps. They made many Rubber Backstamps but ONLY ONE of these Printers Blocks for each different Backstamp. Thus you are bidding on a ONE OF A KIND ITEM. This piece was purchased from the late Woody Price's Old Inventory. Woody owned and operated The Quality Stamp Company of East Liverpool, Ohio for many years. Woody is mentioned in most US Marks books. Just a great piece of history. Approx. Size: 1 x 3/4 x 7/8. Many of the backstamps that we are listing are shown in Lois Lehner's Book titled, "Lehner's Encyclopedia of U. S. MARKS ON Pottery, Porcelain & Clay." She gives credit to Woody Price and The Quality Stamp Co. on the ones that she used from them in her book. Some of Woody's backstamp material is on display at the Ceramic Museum, East Liverpool, Ohio. Please email if you have a question. Thank you for looking and have a great day. If you want insurance please add to bid.
