Etching by listed American Jackson Lee Nesbitt (1913-2008) signed, dated 1938 and titled Blooming Mill - Sheffield Steel Corporation. A commision by this steel company for Nesbitt to draw anonymous workers in an industrial scene at this company helped launch this mid-century artist's career. He was a student of Thomas Hart Benton who was also a mentor and close friend to him as well. Benton considered him to be one of his finest students and their styles are similar. The work is unframed but in a 16 by 20 inch mat - the actual etching is approximately 7 1/8" by 9 1/8" in image and with the border 10 1/2" by 13 1/2". T is some faint mild creasing, noticeable under closer inspection and mainly confined to the border rather than the image. It does not detract and is only mentioned for accuracy. The condition is otherwise excellent. No reserve.
