Beautiful abstract expressionist painting by South Carolina artist, Jesse Redwin Bardin (1923-1997). Oil on canvas measures 21 x 34 inches; 22 x 35 inches in original frame. Signed lower right. Two areas of repair to canvas indicated by patches en verso. Inpainting and conservation was conducted in these areas.Biography:Jesse Redwin Bardin was born in Elloree, South Carolina, J. Bardin was celebrated for his evocative abstract paintings that seem to glow from within. Bardin studied at the University of South Carolina and then at the Art Students League in New York with fellow classmates, Will Barnet and Jasper Johns.
