You are bidding on a large museum quality pitcher by widely collected British master potter Jim Malone. DESCRIPTION: This exceptional classic form has a voluminous body that swells at its mid-section and then retracts into a nicely angled neck. The latter supports a two-tiered rim with a beautifully executed pouring spout. A masterfully pulled furrowed strap handle (and three well placed raised finger swipes below it) complete the pot. The pitcher is decorated inside and out with a rich tenmoku glaze that breaks to brown along the edges of the rim and the handle- as well as in places around the body. Visible rings from the throwing of the pot impart further textural interest to its exterior. This highly collectible pitcher stands 10 ¾” tall and measures app 8” at its widest- and displays large. It is in mint condition- no chips, cracks or repairs- and has the potter’s impressed personal stamp just above the base.
