JOE MONTANA 15 Inch Bronze-Plated football statue. Statue is a numbered, limited edition. The jersey number is 16, but the throwing motion and helmet are pure Irish gold. As an investment or family heirloom, this statue is a very special piece for the true Notre Dame fan. Joe Montana is one of Notre Dame's all-time great legends. Probably the best Irish quarterback since Johnny Lujack and certainly among the best three or four of all time. Known as the "Comeback Kid" for orchestrating unbelievable wins over several season, Joe was a classic quarterback. He had good size, fair speed, very quick feet, sharp, snappy release on passes and fine downfield and peripheral vision. He had many intangibles--charisma, confidence in the clutch and teammates' respect. For his Notre Dame career he completed 268 of 515 passes for 4,121 yards, 25 TD's and 27 interceptions, carried 129 times for 104 yards and 14 touchdowns. His career offense totaled 4,225 yards on 397 attempts for 39 TD's. Won the national championship in 1977. Joe also had a great career in the National Football League four Super Bowl titles; three Super Bowl MVP awards; two NFL MVP awards; an eight-time All-Pro selection and a member of the NFL's 75th Anniversary Team.
