This float measures approx. 4" diameter. It is a greenish mouth blown seamless glass ball. This float was used as a working Japanese fishing float. It is in good beachcombed condition with the normal wear of working fishing floats that have spent their life at sea. It is made with heavy thick glass with impurities, inclusions and bubbles from the Japanese manufacturing technique. The integrity of this float is very sound. T are no cracks or chips on this float. The seal button edge is smooth and chip-free, which is hard to find on these old floats that spent their life working at sea.LOTS OF GREAT BUBBLES IN THIS FLOAT. In Walt Pich's float reference books, GLASS BALL and GLASS BALL MARKS , this is mark number #7. It is kanji for "se". This is an old mark, having been manufactured from the 1920 through WWII. It is commonly referred to as the "Otaru T" among float collectors.
