Hereis a wonderful vintage sand pail that also comes with its sand shovel! The pail is signed “Kirchhof – Newark, N.J. Made In U.S.A. It shows children playing with a Scotty dog on a brilliant yellow paint background. There are three different pictures or scenes on the pail. One shows a little girl in a fancy dress. The Scotty dog has a hold of the ribbon bow on the back of her dress and pulling it. It looks like he is trying to untie it. The second scene shows a little boy and girl running. There are two Scotty dogs running with them. The final scene shows a boy with a huge ball. He is holding it up and the Scotty dog is jumping up trying to get the ball. The children are dressed in early clothes. Their images are done in very bright colors. The artwork is very well done. This cute vintage pail measures 4” tall not counting the handle. The handle is red and yellow. It is securely attached and moves easily. The inside of the pail is yellow and so is the bottom of the pail. The small sand shovel came with the shovel when I got it. It is the right size for the pail but it is not marked. It is painted yellow and measures 6 ¾ ” long. The back of the shovel is unpainted tin. It is silver.
