Double your traffic. This 3/2 rod features 1/2" cork ring handles fore and aft with a full nickel silver reel seat which bears the patent date May 31, 1880. The seat has raised rails, a down-sliding band, and one rail is notched to lock the sliding band. It is stamped "...Leonard Mills Co. , Makers." The cane has aged to a lovely orange color. This rod has red wraps over English twist guides and red intermediates. Because the tips have been protected inside an aluminum tip tube, their varnish is reasonably good, especially when compared to the rough, slightly melted varnish on the mid and butt sections. One guide is missing on the butt, and 2 ferrules need new wraps. There is a 2" crack in the middle of one flat about 8" above the grip. This rod comes with the original tip bag and canvas case. Note: a non-related detachable handle is included. THIS IS AN EXTRAORDINARY COLLECTION OF AN 1880 Leonard Mills rod, sack, metal/brass tube etc. I have the orig. guide for resto!
