Listing for sale is a Turn Of The Century Oriental Tabletop 4 Section Folding Screen with a beautiful Hand Painted Japanese Scene. The screen measures 18" High X 29" Wide, each panel is approx. 7 1/8" Wide. The wood is a very nice deep brown color it may be Mahogany but I am not positive, the painted scenes are all very nice and serene, you have a man fishing near the waterfalls, t are snowcap mountains in the background and a river with a house above it, the sky part is painted gold which makes it glow under the right light. The colors are still very nice with some paint loss mostly in the tree areas, the trees are raised possibly with an acrylic paint or whatever they used back then, so you can feel the raised trees and also on the ground are raised areas. The four bottom sections below the scenes have painted pink flowers, they measure 3" X 5 1/4". The panels are connected with 6 hinges which are all original, t is one that is broken, but can easily be replaced, it still stands securely with the broken one so you do not have to replace it if you did not want to. This Oriental Screen is till in amazing condition for over 100 years old, t is some places w the finish is missing mostly on the bottom of the screen and a few very small chips in the wood, on the back t are small flowers but they are hard to see now. I put in a lot of read more
