This auction is for No. 2758 Pennsylvania Double Door Automobile Boxcar with original box made by Lionel. It is 9 1/4 inch in length and is nicely detailed with embossed rivets,seams and die-cast ends and doors. It was available from 1941 to 1942 and was painted brown with white heat-stamped Pennsylvania Railroad markings. Although "X2458" was stamped in small print on the sides, the most prominently displayed number was "61100". Separately installed trim items included a brake wheel, black metal ladders on each side, as well as a metal center sill and plastic air reservoir under the car. Most cars had steps on each corner, and all cars were equipped with staple-end trucks and coil couplers. This car and box are both in very good condition. I am selling this WITHOUT A RESERVE so bid often. Thanks for looking.
