In Stock and Ready to Ship! This is a Lionel 6044 Blue Airex Non-opening Double Door Boxcar from 1959-1960. The 6044 short box car of 1959 continued a trend started by Lionel in the mid-1950‘s by including a company logo on the sides of their entry-level box car. An interesting item to note on the 6044 is that it never appeared in any Lionel catalogue and was and uncatalogued for three years! For the 6044, Airex was the predominate company to be displayed on the car. However, t is an extremely rare version with Nestle‘s printed on the sides. It has an unpainted blue plastic body with white and yellow heat-stamped lettering, black frame, arch-bar, plastic trucks and two fixed couplers. Completely operable, this piece shows signs of use, with a few scratches on the car. T is a slight amount of rust on the underside of the car. The lettering is complete. Overall condition is Very Good-plus. This item was inspected by both our in-house Lionel Postwar experts and by our Authorized Lionel Service Station and we guarantee this item is completely functional and operable.
