GS-4 Northern 4-8-4 Locomotive Lionel vintage HO scale new old stock from my own collection Southern Pacific Daylight GS-4 5-6500 road # 4454 I bought this along with other items 10-12 years ago from the estate of a retired retail dealer who had literally thousands of 1970s items. Never run, do not believe it was ever out of box until these photos. however, when removed, it has a broken wheel ( axle ) on one side. see closeup pics - right rear driver is broken at the axle. this is a non driven idler wheel, still held by the connecting rod. I believe this could be an easy fix if disassembled and a metal axle fit. Did not do any repair work, since I never know what the next owner would prefer It will dispaly nicely as-is, in or out of the box. have not tried to run it. box shows some minor shelfwear, cello tight, all intructions and paperwork inside A gorgeous looking locomotive with NO cosmetic damage or wear. part or restore, sold as-is.
