Very lovely unsigned Sessionist Vase attributed to Michael Powolny for the Wiener Werkstatte or Vienna Workshop with Sterling Silver Mount. Typically decorated with sectional stripes and framed by a dentilled and applied white dot border. The vase has a refired pontil mark and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration. Some very superficial marks to the decoration is not a concern at all. The mount is also in excellent order with minimal marks and hallmarked with the London date code for 1927. History: Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser founded the Wiener Werkstatte or the Viennese Workshop and Production Cooperative of Art Works in Vienna in 1903. It was modelled after Britain's Charles Robert Ashbee's Guild of Handicraft and in 1905 had over 100 employed craftsmen. Measures 6" high Thank you for viewing this sale.
