This is a Loetz Phen Genre 3/430, NOT to be confused with the more common Argus line. The difference is that the ground or base color looks like an orange/pink combination and is called "metallic red" by Loetz. This example shows great contrast between the papillon oil spot base, and the pulled and looped, highly iridescent decoration that results in the sphere like shapes. Technically perfect and as wonderful as anything ever made by Tiffany! The last photo shows the vase upon display, lit only by a window and entry door, natural lighting. Condition: Excellent. The vase shows only the textures imparted upon the piece in the making. There is one open bubble, as pictured and completely in the making. Size: nicely sized at 4 3/4"tall Attribution: please look to the attached photo from Das Böhmische Glas band IV page 53, for an exact example of this vase. It can also be viewed on Guarantee: this vase is original, period correct Loetz circa 1902-1903 If you collect Austrian Jugendstil Art Nouveau glass, this vase will stand proudly among those pieces.
