On auction here is a very rare DVD which features all the highlights and all the goals from Millwall's 1999/99 season. The 1998/99 season was notable for the emergence of a wealth of locally produced talent at The Den promising a bright future for Millwall as they enter the next millennium. Following the departure of Billy Bonds in May, Chairman Theo Paphitis turned to Lions stalwarts Keith Stevens and Alan McLeary to lead the club back towards the higher reaches of the League. It was to be no easy task, with little money for strengthening the squad and the men in charge learning managerial ropes as they went along, but steady progress was made as the campaign unfolded and ultimately there was the bonus of a Wembley visit in April. The most exciting aspect of the season as a whole was watching the likes of Tim Cahill, Steven Reid, Joe Dolan and Paul Ifill break through into the first team and establish themselves at senior level. Neil Harris, in his first season in League football netted 18 goalds and was voted by supporters as Millwall's player of the year, whilst Lucas Neil and Richard Sadlier fought back from injury to making their own telling contributions. After hovering just outside the Play-Off pack for most of the season, the youngsters ran out of steam after Wembley to finish in a still creditable tenth spot. However read more
