Up for auction is a nice old Moro Barong, dates to I believe the 1800's. Comes complete with scabbard, all the mother of pearl decorations are all t and has some other inlay, I believe it's crushed sea coral as I've seen war clubs with similar decorations. Has a small crack on back of scabbard (pictured) but is small and is in no danger of getting worse. Handle is in nice shape with brass collar, appears to have just a little wear to one of the pommel projections, alot of the time these are broken off. Interestingly, it also has some brass wire woven around it, must have been done to enhance the grip, nice patina on brass and wire. Blade is in good shape, has scratches but has extremely sharp point and cutting edge. Overall length in scabbard is approximately 26 1/2inches, Blade itself is 16 1/2 inches. All in all a nice old Moro fighting weapon for your collection, no reserve!
