Standing 6 /12" high, Northwoods Town Pump is considered very rare. It was acquired from my grandmother who lived on the east coast. It was made betweeen 1908 and about 1920. The Northwood Glass Company was founded by Harry Northwood in Wheeling, West Virginia in 1902. Carnival Glass was produced in 1908. Carnival glass is pressed glass which has an iridized surface and forms a lustrous coating at the surface which gives it a range of colors which was called "poor man's Tiffany" in its day. This Northwoods Town Pump is shown amethyst and is an original and is in good condition.
