Old Nantucket Town mid 1800's in Scrimshaw Framed Size is 8.75" x 7" - Image area within the double matting 4.5" x 3" Cream colored deep-cut outer matting contrasts richly with the dark Nantucket Cranberry inner matting which is also double thick and deep cut & set within a weatd antique finish Nantucket Cranberry dark red frame. - "Whether you live on the East Coast or just like the feeling.. this piece adds a warm and historic touch to your library, home or office." Brant Point ( Lighthouse ) - Nantucket 1820 Beautiful Scrimshaw scene set in Museum Matt and mounted on fiber paper. Framed size is 10.75" x 12.5" ( Deep Matt cut out 3.5" x 5.5" ) Cost of custom framing and matting alone is well over $150 exclusive of the Scrimshaw. Scrimshawn Art is 2.75" x 4.25" and the scene is Schooners and Whalers passing the Brant Point Light in 1820 . Scrimmed in Lamp Black Ink with great detail and historic significance ! also listed from our Family's Collections are.... The scene depicted in this beautiful and detailed scrimshaw work on polymer is a scene that appears to be Old New Bedford Harbour with some town folks looking down to see which Whalers had come back to port and which schooners had arrived with the goods they ordered from New York City to London, England. This area w families of the sailors waited along with other towns people was often called.... The Family Crow's Nest The Family "Crow's Nest" set up to of the Whaling Captain's Home was a popular gathering spot for the Captain and his family.. for from t they could see ships miles out at sea. But when it was nearing time for the Captain, his ship, crew and cargo of whale oil to return- everyone gatd day after day upon the "Crow's Nest" to get the first signting of "their ship" and their loved one's return.
