This auction is for an original Lionel Postwar GP-7 Diesel e-unit in nice condition. If you are tired of those corroded units with worn drums and wires cut that just don't work properly this is your solution. It will fit any of the postwar GP-7 and GP-9 diesel road switchers such as 2028, 2328, 2337, 2338, 2339, 2346, 2347, 2348, 2349, the 2329 Rectifier, the 400 series Budd cars and any F3 that originally used the 2333-80 or 100-5 E-unit. The blue, green and yellow leads are 7 1/4 inches long, this unit is the 100-4, 100-5 long handle (downward pointing) diesel series. Whether you are restoring a layout train, display train or just repairing your favorite "runner" this e-unit is your solution. The engine sequence of forward/neutral/reverse/neutral is crisp and sharp and this unit was test cycled down to 5.95 volts. This auction includes the original wire bundle to the motor, the correct grey shroud, brass wire clip and the correct screw to mount the e-unit to the bracket. Clean unit, rotating drum copper bright , frame box clean, handle and center pivot shiny with trace cosmetic corrosion on center pivot and handle (photo 2).
