MARX Tin Battery-Operated Toy - Pete the Talking Parrot This auction is for a vintage, c.1962, MARX tin toy known as Pete the Talking Parrot. This battery-operated toy is marked MARX TOYS MADE IN JAPAN LOUIS MARX & CO., INC. on its bottom. It stands about 18" high. The base and perch are tin while the bird is covered in material. When the black button is pushed its eyes light, the head swivels, its tail moves, its wings flap, and its beak open & closes slightly. Nothing happens when the white button is pushed. The parrot isn't speaking if it's supposed to. The battery compartment is clean & the compartment door closes securely. I don't see any dings, sents, scratches or rust. The bird's material appears too be in very good condition. The very bottom tail feathers are a bit scraggily. Refer to my pictures for more details. Batteries are not included.
