1/700 Scale Plastic - Oscar II Class Soviet - Russian Cruise Missile Submarine - Length: 8.75"These models come already assembled and painted out of the box. There is nothing to do or needed other than take them out of the packaging and display them.These models are plastic. The overall coloring and the details are very interesting, there are many grill marks accurately painted along with embossed hatches and panels.The model rests on a display stand. The model is not permanently attached to the display stand.This is certainly not a toy. It will not last long if played with. The box is labeled as not recommended for children under 14.The box measures 11" x 3.5" x 4"The Oscar class, Soviet designations Project 949 Granit and Project 949A Antey, (NATO reporting names Oscar I and Oscar II respectively), are cruise missile submarines (SSGNs) designed in the Soviet Union for the Soviet Navy. They are currently in service with the Russian Navy with some of the vessels planned to be modernized into the Project 949AM to extend their servicelife and increase combat capabilities.The Project 949 submarines were the largest cruise missile submarines in service until the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarines were converted to carry cruise missiles in 2007.
