Released in 1986, the Silver Eagle is America’s only official investment-grade silver bullion coin. It is also the world’s only silver bullion coin whose weight, content and purity are guaranteed by the U. S. Government. The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman’s beautiful walking liberty design originally used on U.S. Silver Half Dollars from 1916 through 1947. The reverse design is John Mercanti’s rendition of an eagle and shield, symbolic of American strength and pride. THIS COIN HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM A PLASTIC TUBE OF TWENTY, WITH COTTON GLOVES AND PLACED IN AN ACID FREE COIN ENVELOPE.
