Created in Paden City, West Virginia, this Ruby candleholder from Paden city Glass #221 pattern, Maya is colorful. Please refer to William Walker book on Paden City Glass Company, plate #169. Only the one in this auction is a deeper ruby and does not show the yellow effect in the book (rightly so). The central burst of glass between the two candle holders imitates a Mayan Indian headdress so Walker's book says. There are no chips, cracks, bruises or cloudiness in this piece and the light that flickers from the candles dances off the different strokes of glass. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
