You are bidding on a fabulous miniture turtle crafted entirely of Asian Elephant Ivory It is in excellent condition, and was hand carved during the Qing Dynasty in China, making it at least 100 years old, possibly much older. The turtle measures approx. 3/4"long by 1/2"wide. I have several of these turtles, and no two are exactly alike. I display mine on my miniatures shelf, and they are always the first item that people ask me about. They also make a wonderful gift, especially when viewed up close, w people can appreciate the Old World Craftsmanship. Needless to say, they are a must have for anyone who likes turtles, or minitures of any kind, especially with Handcrafted Ivory becoming more scarce each day. This listing is for the darker colored version of the two types, so be sure to check out my other auctions so you can view photos of the lighter colored version. They are both extremely cool.
