Up for bid is an authentic autographed baseball from the 1987 Boston Red Sox (year after they lost in the series) . I haven't had it certified, but I guarantee it's authenticity. Would you like to hear the story of how I obtained it? I grew up in Walpole, MA... do you know who lived in Walpole? Joe Morgan. So, back in probably February of 1987, my mother was at a church meeting in downtown Walpole (the busy metropolis ;0)) and parked on Main St. When she got out of the meeting, she found a note on her car that said 'I hit your car, please come into the bar "The Barley Corn" and find me (wish I had saved that note...)'. When she went inside, who should she find out hit her car but Joe Morgan, the then third base coach of the Boston Red Sox. She said he was very nice, offered to pay for (and eventually paid) all expenses, and asked if t was anything else he could do for her. Well, my mother tells him that her then 16-year old son loves the Red Sox. So he says, "How about an autographed baseball?" Well, what arrives in the mail in the Spring (after Clemens had been holding out for more money), but this ball.
