This large soup tureen has the Rosenthal Elfenbein Viktoria Kronach, Germany stamp on the bottom in green with crown and cross swords. It is 10" in diameter and in excellent condition excepting for a 1 1/2" chip on inner lip of the tureen. I have the chip [which is also in excellent condition:)] and I have temporarily glued the chip into place (with non-toxic school glue) and it is not even remotely perceptible to the unknowing eye.(of course with the lid on, no one can see it anyway) I think that the chip can be easily removed and professionally repaired if so desired. If not, it looks nearly perfect as is...t is also a 'thumbtack head' sized little light brownish discoloration in one spot on the rim of the lid...not ugly at all; perhaps a factory defect or maybe incurred by heat? At any rate it is a magnificent piece and looks beautiful even with these small points. This piece was purchased in Germany, by my in-laws when they lived t many years ago, along with the other pieces that I have been selling in other auctions.
