This Japanese wooden kokeshi doll is from the 1960's, and measures 4.75" high. This is a more traditional kokeshi, with a swirled red & black kimono and a matching hat. She's also wearing the stylized chrysanthemum petals on her side hair. Her facial features are very serene with just a hint of an impending smile! The artist has signed the bottom of the doll in black ink. This kokeshi doll is in good vintage condition - hard to find many flaws- and would make a nice addition to your growing collection. White areas are camera glare. If you are looking for perfection, please do not bid on the older dolls.
