Vintage Axe with Dark Wood Handle and Metal Blade. Was a Ceremonial Axe for the African Songye people. Hand Crafted in the Dominican Republic of Congo in the 1970's . Blade has a chip in edge of metal as seen in photos. Total length 12.5 inches. Hand carved handle has a very smooth surface. Handle end has a chip. (See photos) Blade is 4.5 inches at longest point and 3.5 inches at widest part. Hole was drilled in handle (see photo) by maker of axe.
