You are bidding on a Beautiful Sterling Silver Tibetan Om Mani Padme Hum Amulet imported from Kathmandu. Highly detailed with inscription Om Mani Padme Hum. Measures 2" inches in length. Om Mani Padme Hum "Hail to the Jewel in the Lotus" the mantra associated with Avalokiteshwara (Quan Yin, Chenrezig, Kanzeon), the manifestation of Compassion. (Hail, or Homage to the jewel of the Eternal, Transcendent within the Lotus of Enlightenment) (Om Mani Peme Hung-Tibetan) Tibetan Buddhists believe that saying the mantra (prayer), Om Mani Padme Hum, out loud or silently to oneself, invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion. Viewing the written form of the mantra is said to have the same effect -- it is often carved into stones, worn on jewelry, and placed w people can see them.
