This week we have from the 1800's an Extraordinary Ornate Cherub Monstrance, an Gorgeous Tulip Chalice with a Paten and Carry Case, a stunning Framed Painted Porcelain of the Blessed Mother, a wonderful "Gondola" Incense Holder, an elaborate Ex-Voto for a newborn Baby with the Madonna and Child, a second Tulip Chalice of Silver and Gilt, and two wonderful Antique Silver Devotional Pieces. IN THIS AUCTION we are very pleased to present an Exquisite 1800's Gilt and Vermeil Tulip Chalice. Classic form and a classic Acanthus Leaf design distinguish this Chalice. In addition to the over-all floral embellishments of the Cup Holder and stem of the Chalice, t are also unique hand-hammered designs ringing the pedestal base. All of these decorative elements catch the light and add drama and beauty to an already superb design. However, it is the Vermeil interior of the Chalice Cup that is a true delight to behold. After all these years it remains shimmery and intriguing. The Chalice stands 9 inches (22.5 cm) tall and the base is 4 ½ inches (11 cm) in diameter. The overall condition is very good with only the expected wear after years of service (t is a Very slight crimp in the cup lip). Return this Chalice to Church service and it will add Grace and Beauty to any Altar. Or, and it will take pride of place when added to any collection of Church artifacts.
