Superbly Painted Limoges Chicago Studio Plate; Gorgeous Chrysanthemums Porcelain:Antique:Chicago Studios, Pickard, Donath, Brauer, Stouffer, Yeschek ( This is a beautifully painted Limoges Plate, signed by artist R. Schulz. The back of the plate has a partial studio mark; I don't know which studio it is with so little of the mark left (by the shape of the partial mark, it could be Keates, Koenig or Stouffer Studio; but style of the painting is very much in keeping with one of the Chicago studios of the early 1900's. The artist has painted superb pink and white Spider Mums with their leaves and stems. The Mums cover most of the surface of this beautiful Plate. There is an irregular border painted in very rich gold that is accented with red outlining - very much like Pickard, Brauer, Donath or Stouffer artists painted. The painting of the Chrysanthemums is by far one of the best renditions I've ever seen. The Plate measures 9 1/2" in diameter. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines. The painting is superb, the colors are strong and very rich; the gold is the perfect touch to complete this beauty.
