DESCRIPTION: We are offering this rare, antique, Tibetan, wood, silver, turquoise and coral yak butter box. It dates to the 18th century. The wood carcass is set with bands and a roundel of beautifully worked silver set with coral and turquoise stones. When open, the box smells of rancid yak butter. This ritual container gives us a glimpse into life in early Tibet. DIMENSIONS: 4 1/2" X 4 1/2" X 3". CONDITION: Several of the turquoise and coral stones are missing. No further damage and no restoration. IT IS OFFERED WITH A $9.99 OPENING BID AND NO RESERVE.
