Prototype: Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) class GG-1 heavy general-purpose locomotive. 4-6-6-4 wheel arrangement. Built by General Electric and Westinghouse starting in 1934. Originally in standard Brunswick Green paint scheme with 5 decorative stripes. Use: Freight trains and passenger trains on PRR main lines, later Penn Central, Conrail and Amtrak. Model: Era II and III. The locomotive has a die-cast metal frame and body. DCC digital decoder with a sound generator. Powerful can motor with centrally mounted, with a bell-shaped armature. 4 axles powered in the two power trucks. 4 traction tires. Articulated running gear with 2 power trucks and 2 pilot trucks, to enable the unit to negotiate sharp curves. The headlights will work in conventional operation and can be controlled digitally. The headlights, engineers cab lights 1 and 2, acceleration and braking delay, and several operating sounds can be controlled digitally with Trix Systems or DCC. Powerful speaker. Large American design pantographs. Separately applied metal grab irons. RP 25 wheel sets. The couplers are compatible with the Kadee system. Length over couplers 280 mm. I would imagine this would be a c-10 rating train since it has never been opened or used, however I am not authorized to rate trains.
