We are offering a very large and impressive 1916 dated Van Briggle Pottery Arts & Crafts style jar or bowl, shape # 828, designed in 1910. Strong crisp mold with a band of stylized leaves, forming a wreath surround, complimented by a matte turquoise glaze with dark blue overglaze. Bottom is lightly covered in glaze with incised AA and 1916, both clearly visible. There is an old bump to the inside rim with crack, a sort of a 3/4" long "unchipped chip" (photos 10,11&12); no other damage, no chips, cracks or repairs. Stands 6" tall x 11" diameter at the widest. Fresh out of a collector's estate and offered here for the first time. This piece is quite heavy and must be largely double boxed. Payment in full is expected within 48 hours of close of auction. Shipping cost includes insurance. No returns unless item is grossly misrepresented. California residents will be charged 9% state sales tax unless a resale exemption form is submitted.
