We are selling this beautiful Native American woven basket. This basket is 10 1/2 inches in diameter and 5 inches tall. It was purchased in 1976 from Mrs. Val P. Becker, a member of the Neoga Penobscot during a visit to Indian Island, Old Town, Maine. I have included scans of the postcard showing Mrs. Becker (which is included in this sale). This basket is in excellent condition and is made using "sweet grass braiding". Originally it had multiple colored strips which have faded over the years, but traces can still be seen. (Please look at all photos carefully). PA buyers will be charged 6% sales tax unless a tax number is provided at time of sale.
