This vintage carved and painted Mah Jong set is made of a hard plastic material commonly called " CHINESE AMBER RESIN".The amber colored slightly translucent full size tiles measure about 1 3/16" long about 7/8" across and about 10/16" high.The tiles have excellent paint and a lovely sheen.***THE CRACKLING LINES SEEN THROUGHOUT THE TILE SET ARE NORMAL AND PART OF THE CHARMING EFFECT THAT CHINESE RESIN TILES ARE KNOWN FOR. ***The set contains 148 tiles, 4 dice, a round green piece which may be a wind holder. I do not play mah jong. There are other items in plastic bags which came with the set. There are also typed instructions.THERE ARE NO RACKS.The tiles are in paper lined trays.The set is housed in a wooden footed table/ case. The table only measures about 18 1/2" long by about 14" wide by about 9" high.This was how I bought / purchased the set. Shipping with this table would add a lot of weight to shipping cost.
